daina block
with D<LAB

D<LAB is a vehicle for artistic inquiry. Energizing critical thinking and problem-solving intelligence through a process-based learning style. D<LAB is a collaborative movement arts practice to enrich study, showcase or performance. Daina Block established D<LAB during her later years as Arts Educator, Choreographer and Alexander Technique practitioner, in response to performers and teachers wanting a practice that would deepen a connection to their creative self.

Daina Block brings a breath of kinesthetic study to her community. Sharing the philosophy of the Alexander Technique - where form informs function - and the Nutritious Movement® approach - get moving so you can move more parts of you - has had a positive effect with clients and her own somatic exploration. Daina's interest in the above is inspired by her artistic practice in dance. Her formal dance and choreographic studies have been enriched by teachers, colleagues and peers from the Victorian College of the Arts, Australia. With a Bachelor in dance and Post Graduate Diploma in Choreography, she continues her studies in dance making
through the MFA Choreography program at Jacksonville University, Florida. MORE. From one creative medium to another, Daina took the opportunity to diversify her skill set and grow her interests in music and video production. Along side a collaborative team, Daina had the pleasure of co-creating a nationally viewed youth acting improvisational game show called KidBytes

Daina Block is an Arts Educator, Choreographer, Performing Artist, Mentor, Alexander Technique practitioner (AmSAT) and a personal trainer of Nutritious Movement® Certified Restorative Exercise Specialist (CPT-RES)
